Early calls for corn, wheat, and soybeans

08/09/2010 @ 7:22am

CHICAGO, Illinois (Agriculture.com)--The pre-opening prices for the CME Group grain commodities for Monday, August 9, 2010 are sharply mixed. The early calls for corn are flat, soybeans up 5-7 cents and wheat down 13-15 cents.

In overnight electronic trading, the Dec. corn futures contract traded steady at $4.20 per bushel. The Nov. soybean futures contract traded 7 cents higher at $10.40 1/2 per bushel. The Sep. wheat futures contract traded 18 cents lower at $7.07 3/4. For Dec. soymeal futures, the contract traded $0.10 per short ton higher at $296.90, and Dec. soyoil up 7 points at $42.82.

The outside markets are mildly supportive for Monday's grain trade. The real factor driving the mixed early calls are the mixed overnight markets.
