08/27/2010 @ 7:49am

CHICAGO, Illinois (Agriculture.com)--The pre-opening prices for the CME Group grain commodities for Thursday, August 27, 2010 are higher. The early calls for corn are 2-4 cents higher, soybeans and wheat up 2-4 cents.

In overnight electronic trading, the Dec. corn futures contract traded 4 1/4 cents higher at $4.36 1/4 per bushel. The Nov. soybean futures contract traded 3 cents higher at $10.17 1/2 per bushel. The Dec. wheat futures contract traded 3 1/2 cents higher at $6.92. For Dec. soymeal futures, the contract traded $0.60 per short ton lower at $297.00, and Dec. soyoil up 0.23 point at $40.313.

The outside markets are not supportive for Thursday's grain trade. The real factor driving the higher early calls are the higher overnight markets.
