Early calls for corn, wheat, and soybeans
CHICAGO, Illinois (Agriculture.com)--The pre-opening prices for the CME Group grain commodities for Wednesday, September 1, 2010 are higher. The early calls for corn are 4-6 cents higher, soybeans 7-9 higher and wheat up 10-12 cents.
In overnight electronic trading, the Dec. corn futures contract traded 4 1/2 cents higher at $4.43 3/4 per bushel. The Nov. soybean futures contract traded 4 cents higher at $10.14 per bushel. The Dec. wheat futures contract traded 9 1/4 cents higher at $6.95. For Dec. soymeal futures, the contract traded $1.60 per short ton higher at $296.80, and Dec. soyoil up 0.31 point at $40.36.
The outside markets are supportive for Wednesday's grain trade. The real factors driving the higher early calls are the higher overnight markets.
