Asian soybean rust found in kudzu in Iberia Parish, Louisiana

Agriculture.com Staff 07/10/2006 @ 9:38am

Late Friday, Louisiana officials turned Iberia Parish red on the USDA map after finding Asian soybean rust in kudzu for the second time in seven days. Rust at both sites is sporulating heavily.

Although the disease is spreading in kudzu, officials stress that no soybean rust has been found in soybeans, and there's no need to activate rust control measures in the crop at this time. If rust is found in commercial soybean fields, however, that could change very quickly. Learn more and find other resources at StopSoybeanRust.com.
