Brazil rainfall chances growing

01/26/2012 @ 8:54am

It was dry in the main Argentine growing areas the past 24 hours, and dry weather returned to most of the growing areas of eastern Paraguay and also the far southern bean areas of Brazil. The most significant rainfall the past 24 hours in the Brazilian bean areas was in parts of Parana, Sao Paulo, and Mato Gross do Sul, with only a few light showers farther south.

Rains did fall in the growing areas of eastern Paraguay and far southern Brazil, but not all locations received major amounts, with few reporting stations receiving around 0.50" or less, leaving these areas still needing rain. Mainly dry weather is forecast in eastern Paraguay and far southern Brazil into the middle of next week, and highs will climbing back into the 90's to around 100 degrees for most of next week, after some milder temps in the near term.

Rain chances will increase again in eastern Paraguay and southern Brazil later next week into the end of the 10 day period and the 11-15 day period. In northern Brazil frequent rainfall will continue in the next week or so, but longer term it looks like a drier pattern in these areas, more favorable for harvest in this region. In Argentina dry weather is forecast into the weekend and highs will warm back into the 90's to around 100 degree range by about Sun. into Mon.

Rain chances will increase in Argentina early next week and this rain chance will continue into the 6-10 day period with 6-10 day rainfall near to above normal in most areas. It also looks like rain chances will continue into the 11-15 day time frame.
