Corn, soybeans seen starting higher

04/17/2012 @ 7:39am

With favorable outside markets and higher overnight grain prices, the CME Group corn, soybean and wheat markets have support Tuesday.

The Early Calls for the commodities on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, are higher.

Corn is seen opening 1-2 cents higher, soybeans 9-11 cents higher and wheat 2-4 cents higher.

In overnight trading, the July corn futures contract traded 1 3/4 cents higher at $6.15 per bushel. July soybean futures traded 9 3/4 cents higher at $14.34 per bushel, and July wheat traded 4 3/4 cents higher at $6.26. For July soybean meal futures, the contract traded $2.80 higher per short ton at $396.70. July soybean oil futures traded $0.39 higher at $56.44.

The outside markets are friendly for Tuesday's grain trade. The real factors driving the calls will be the higher overnight markets.
