The CME Group corn, soybean and wheat markets are expected to extend gains Tuesday.
The Early Calls for the commodities on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, are higher. Corn is seen opening 5-7 cents higher, soybeans 18-22 cents higher, and wheat 3-5 cents higher.
In overnight trading, the Dec. corn futures contract traded 5 cents higher at $8.28 3/4 per bushel. Dec, soybean futures traded 23 3/4 cents higher at $17.07 1/4 per bushel, and Dec, wheat traded 5 1/2 cents higher at $9.08 1/4. For Dec. soybean meal futures, the contract traded $8.80 per short ton higher at $521.60. Dec, soybean oil futures traded $0.39 higher at $54.92.
The outside markets are mostly favorable for Tuesday's grain trade. The real factors driving the calls will be the higher overnight markets.
