Corn, soybeans to move up

10/26/2011 @ 7:16am

Thanks to optimism coming from Europe's talks on a plan for its debt crisis, the CME Group corn, soybean and wheat markets still have support to trade higher Wednesday.

The Early Calls for the commodities on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, are higher. Corn is seen opening 3-4 cents higher, soybeans 4-6 cents higher, and wheat up 3-5 cents.

In overnight electronic trading, the Dec. corn futures contract traded 2 1/4 cents higher at $6.53 per bushel. The Jan. soybean futures contract traded 4 1/2 cents higher at $12.38 1/4 per bushel. The Dec. wheat futures contract traded 3 3/4 cents higher at $6.40. For Dec. soymeal futures, the contract traded $0.90 per short ton higher at $323.10 and Dec. soyoil $0.05 higher at $51.55.

The outside markets are unfavorable for Wednesday's grain trade. The real factors driving the calls will be the higher overnight markets.
