Harvest Marketing Roundup

The government's shut down, but the combines aren't! Though storms have stalled progress in some areas, corn and soybean harvest is well underway, with a lot of surprisingly strong yield results coming in from the field despite a less-than-perfect growing season. And, the markets are watching. Here's the latest from our market analysts on how the trade's reacting to harvest progress.


No shutdown for corn, soybeans Time to watch & count Yields continue better

The market is coping with a lack of some regular data from the government. Everything weather-oriented is working just fine, but other data, such as the weekly export sales report, is missing.

Little did I think that the dead cat bounce would begin so soon, after the wash out in September, It now appears that is going to be the case. For comparison purposes one needs to only look at the wheat market.

Weather remains ideal, with warm weather mostly frost-free through the extended period, with the next seven days once again showing temps above normal for all but the northwest northern plains.
