With lingering affects from a lower soybean production estimate out of Brazil, combined with a weaker U.S. Dollar, Tuesday's CME Group corn, soybean and wheat markets are poised to trade higher.
The Early Calls for the commodities on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, are higher. Corn is seen opening 3-5 cents higher, soybeans 7-9 cents higher and wheat 7-9 cents higher.
In overnight trading, the May corn futures contract traded 2 1/2 cents higher at $6.51 1/2 per bushel. May soybean futures traded 7 cents higher at $13.09 1/2 per bushel, and May wheat traded 7 1/2 cents higher at $6.60 1/4. For May soybean meal futures, the contract traded $2.10 per short ton higher at $345.70. May soybean oil futures traded $0.16 higher at $55.02.
The outside markets are mostly favorable for Tuesday's grain trade. The real factors driving the calls will be the higher overnight markets.
