With friendly outside markets, the CME Group corn, soybean and wheat prices could find positive territory Friday. However, to start with, the lower overnight markets may trump the outside support Friday. The Early Calls for the commodities on Friday, November 11, 2011, are mostly lower. Corn is seen opening mixed, soybeans 2-4 cents higher, and wheat 2-4 cents lower.
In overnight electronic trading, the Dec. corn futures contract traded 3/4 of a cent lower at $6.44 3/4 per bushel. The Jan. soybean futures contract traded 3 1/2 cents higher at $11.71 per bushel. The Dec. wheat futures contract traded 2 1/2 cents lower at $6.17 1/2. For Dec. soymeal futures, the contract traded $0.70 per short ton higher at $298.60 and Dec. soyoil $0.03 higher at $50.55.
The outside markets are favorable for Friday's grain trade. The real factors driving the calls will be the overnight markets.
