Wanted: Rain!

Jeff Caldwell 06/14/2012 @ 12:44pm Multimedia Editor for Agriculture.com and Successful Farming magazine.

News that rainfall chances over the next week to 10 days may be declining has already-parched crops in a shaky spot in many parts of the nation's midsection. In some parts of the Corn Belt, fractions of the normal amount of rain has fallen so far this spring, and with corn leaves curling and soybeans emerging unevenly, many farmers are worried that this year's yield potential won't measure up to the expectations for a large crop. See the latest on the crop weather situation here and find out how dry -- or hopefully, wet -- the forecast looks for your area.
