Farmers can give their two cents at regional Farm Bill hearings
A series of regional Farm Bill hearings got underway today in Albany, Georgia. Future events are scheduled for July in Missouri, Pennsylvania and Iowa, with hearings in the West also planned for the future.
The public is invited to attend the hearings, or listen to them live online. "These hearings are a valuable opportunity for direct dialogue between farmers and the Agriculture Committee and for folks in the surrounding region to share how they would like to see farm policy shaped as we write the next Farm Bill,†said Senator Saxby Chambliss, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
