Agriculture.com launches new product ‘decision engine’

John Walter 12/14/2012 @ 2:22pm

A new agricultural product buyer’s guide was launched Friday by Successful Farming magazine’s website, Agriculture.com.

The Agriculture.com Buyer’s Guide is a decision engine that enables farmers to quickly compare complex information on a variety of key products, including row crop and utility tractors, ATVs and UTVs, pickup trucks, and tires.

With the tool, powered by FindTheBest, website visitors can filter data, sort products by preferences and select items to compare. The Buyer’s Guide enables users to assemble all the data on one page, compare options side-by-side, and choose preferred items.  Ratings are available to help with purchasing decisions.

In the tractor category, for example, listings can be sorted by MRSP, gross power, drawbar pull maximum, and hydraulic capacity. Searches can be refined by type of tractor, drive, transmission, cab, hydraulic lifting capacity, power take-off, power at crankshaft, and more.

An accompanying section, the Farm Tractor Guide, gives guidelines for farmers to consider in making buying decisions, using information from expert sources. And, in another dimension of the service, users are invited to submit reviews of products.

The Agriculture.com Buyer’s Guide is mobile optimized for use on tablets and smartphones.

A complementary Living the Country Life Buyer’s Guide is scheduled for release in the near future.
