Shoot away: Views from the farm

Agriculture.com Staff 12/23/2010 @ 11:24am

As interactive technology tools and social networks like Facebook, Twitter and even Agriculture.com's community pages grow in size and sophistication, more traditional type of information remains one of the hottest things in media and social media. The proof? The more than 500 million users of Facebook upload 100 million photos to the popular social network every day.

Farmers, though part of that larger group on Facebook, are carving out a similar photo niche of their own. Agriculture.com's new image gallery console, released earlier this month, has almost 500 farmer-uploaded images. And, Farmersforthefuture.com, a social network for young and beginning farmers, has seen almost 13,000 photos uploaded from its farmer members since its start in August 2008.
