Honda’s Pioneer 500, 700 SxS Models See Changes for 2017

In 2017, Honda is spicing up its Pioneer 700 and 500 side-by-sides. The Pioneer 700 is getting fancier in looks, but both the Pioneer 700 and 500 are getting improved transmission options.

“With the updates we’ve made to the Pioneer 700 and 500, we expect these models to be even more popular than they already have been,” says Lee Edmunds, manager of motorcycle marketing communications at Honda. “Now both models give drivers the option of shifting manually or relying on the automatic transmission.”

About That Fancy Pioneer 700

Updates for the entire Pioneer 700 family include new graphics, a different bumper, and a fascia on the four offerings Honda now has of this side-by-side.

Each of the two new Deluxe models – the 700-4 Deluxe and 700 Deluxe – are equipped with a toggle switch that allows drivers to switch between manual and automatic transmission modes. Drivers yearning for more control may appreciate the steering-column-mounted paddles that allow users to shift manually or trump automatic shift points instantly.

Both Deluxe models come equipped with aluminum wheels, electric power steering, and painted suspension springs. Made for turning heads, the models have painted plastic bodies for a brighter look and more durable exterior. The Pioneer 700-4 Deluxe will come in Phantom Camo and silver metallic, while the Pioneer 700 Deluxe will be available in Phantom Camo and blue.

Those who enjoy the seating versatility offered by the 700-4 model can still expect that QuickFlip seating design on the Pioneer 700-4 and will also see it on the 700-4 Deluxe model.

Pioneer 500 Updates

The Pioneer 500 just got a lot more versatile. Via a convenient toggle switch, drivers can now switch between automatic and manual-electric-shift modes through a brand-new transmission mode. The steering-column-mounted paddles offered on the Pioneer 700 Deluxe models are also now included on this side-by-side model.

Dual-rate suspension springs are now standard on the Pioneer 500, which makes the model less likely to bottom out.

Pioneer 500 fans can still expect this model to be a compact 50 inches in width and transportable in a full-size pickup truck bed. This model is offered in Phantom Camo, red, and green.
