IGENITY profile expanded

IGENITY, by Merial, has expanded its profile to include traits that will predict potential for cow longevity. New traits in the profile include analysis specifically for productive life and added markers to the analysis of dairy form. The combination of these analyses sets a new standard for predicting longevity earlier than ever before.

According to Jennifer Daniels, business development manager of IGENITY, by using DNA to identify and analyze genetic markers associated specifically with productive life and dairy form, IGENITY provides the inside information to help producers understand and manage the potential for animals to perform and transmit economically important traits. "Best of all, this information can be known early in an animal's life, rather than at the end of their productivity," she says.
