New Hybrid Technology from Morton

10/03/2013 @ 4:59pm

“The size and quantity of machines farm operations utilize continue to grow,” says Brian Haraf, Morton Buildings. “Building structures need to advance to accommodate these industry trends.” Morton Buildings’ hybrid building structure is one solution for the increase in equipment size and fleets.

The hybrid building combines the insulating properties, aesthetics, and affordability of a wood frame building with the strength and size capabilities of steel. The steel trusses in the Morton hybrid buildings allow for greater door clearance, giving you the ability to use bigger doors with shorter walls, allowing for a lower profile building. The hybrid building also gives you more interior space: you can have clear span buildings up to 150 feet. That’s 33% more space than traditional wood-frame construction.

Highlights of Hybrids:

  • Standard sizes are 90, 100, 110, or 125 feet
  • Steel trusses set on wood framing
  • 3/12 standard roof pitch
  • Additional interior clearance versus wood trusses
  • Pre-engineered steel, open-webbed truss design
  • Customizable floor plans
