Designed for producers who require air drill capacity in today's tough no-till environment, the new 3N-4010HDA no-till air implement from Great Plains Manufacturing, Inc., is the first to use the 10HD series opener on a specially designed no-till frame.
According to Tom Evans, vice president of sales, "The heart of the implement is the 10HD opener, which combines precise seed placement with the brute strength to handle tough conditions. It starts with 15-inch diameter by 4-millimeter thick planter-style blades for improved trash clearance and penetration and up to 500 pounds of down force per row unit. In the meantime, an 18-position T-handle depth adjustment system ensures that seed is planted at a consistent depth for emergence.â€
The new 3N-4010HDA also utilizes a floating tongue to follow ground contours while the parallel linkage on the openers provide over 10 inches of vertical travel. The implement additionally features 12 degrees of wing flex up and down to follow the terrain while six 18 x 22.5 high flotation tires reduce field compaction and increase accuracy.
