Vermeer expands trailed mower line

Agriculture.com Staff 09/16/2009 @ 9:00am

The new heavy-built TM1400 Trailed Mower cuts an 18' wide (5.49 m) path, considerably wider than any other trailed mower in the field. This allows owners to eliminate the need to operate multiple three-point-mounted mowing units, which tie up extra tractors and operators.

The unit is extremely versatile and can operate with lower horsepower tractors. Center-pivot allows it to maneuver around objects and make 180º turns on headlands for fast cutting. Two independent, staggered (and overlapping) cutterbars ensure accurate and thorough cutting action in the center of the swath. Maximum swath width is 87% of cutting width for quick, uniform dry down. (Swath width percentage depends on type and condition of crop being cut.)

The 6,300 lb. unit requires a 1,000 rpm drive system with minimum drawbar horsepower of 95 hp. Hydraulic requirements include two pair of auxiliary remote outlets (1850 psi, 6 gpm flow minimum/120 BAR, 27L/min).
