New Holland Guardian Sprayers

06/30/2014 @ 4:47pm

New Holland introduces new Tier 4B Guardian front-boom sprayer models. The improved sprayers feature a new front-boom design, more horsepower, and the option of a 1,600-gallon tank and a 120-foot boom to cover more acres in less time.

“With the boom in front, you get the best visibility without looking over your shoulder,” says Sheldon Gerspacher, New Holland. “Nozzles are located behind the front boom, providing complete, unrestricted view of every nozzle. Operating a front-mount sprayer reduces operator stress, which increases productivity and maximizes acres covered.”

Sprayer options
You can choose from four front-boom Guardian sprayer models with two chassis sizes. Tank sizes range from 1,000 to 1,600 gallons.

The sprayers are powered by Cummins engines, rated at 300, 320, or 380 hp., with SCR technology to meet Tier 4B emission standards.

All Guardian sprayers feature four-wheel hydrostatic drive. A four-wheel crab steering option is available for maneuvering on side hills and reducing wheel track crop damage. Both configurations feature a tight turning radius for moving in tight spaces and making headland turns.

A balanced weight distribution disperses weight equally to all four tires for maximum traction and flotation. The sprayers feature a 6-foot ground clearance. The four-wheel independent suspension is hydraulically controlled and allows for 20-inch travel on each wheel. This ensures a smooth ride, better boom stability, and improved traction in varying terrain.

Operator comfort
Operator comfort is at a premium with the full, straight-ahead visibility of the front boom. And because the engine is positioned to the rear of the sprayer, the cab is much quieter.

Deluxe and luxury cab packages are offered on all sprayers. The cabs are equipped with air ride cab suspension and a larger glass area for improved visibility. While seated in the adjustable, high-back air-ride seat, all controls, including the multifunction joystick, armrest command console, and console engine-transmission monitor, are easily accessible. Both cab options are prewired for auto guidance. The new IntelliView IV display can be factory installed, or a Raven display option is available.

The luxury cab option provides additional features, such as a heated and cooled seat with active suspension.

“These creature comforts, combined with smart automatic section control, boom-height control, and auto-guidance systems, make the Guardian sprayers convenient to operate while reducing input costs and increasing productivity,” says Gerspacher.

Model numbers include the SP.295F, SP.300F, SP.345F, and SP.400F. A well-equipped SP.400F will have a list price of approximately $570,000.
