Makita U.S.A., Inc., has released the 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 5-3/8'' Trim Saw Kit (model BSS501). Powered by a Makita built high torque motor, which produces 3,600 RPM and features a carbide-tipped blade, the BSS501 combines power with the lightest overall weight in its class. It is the first 18 volt Lithium-Ion powered trim saw on the market.

Model BSS501 is a kit that includes a carbide-tipped 16T blade, two LXT Lithium-Ion (3.0Ah) batteries, 25-minute Rapid Optimum Charger and heavy-duty case.
