McCormick expands XTX Series

McCormick International USA has expanded its XTX Series tractor line with the introduction of the XTX145 and XTX165.

Powered by a 6.5-L BetaPower Tier 3 engine, the XTX 145 delivers 142 hp (139 PTO hp) while the XTX165 produces 165 hp (155 PTO hp). The engine features a common rail fuel injection system and an electronic power boost feature that releases more muscle when working in difficult conditions. Output of the XTX145 can reach 154 hp, while the XTX165 has up to 169 hp for PTO work.

The new XtraSpeed transmission offers four ranges with eight progressive speeds in each range, resulting in 32 forward and 24 reverse speeds. The multi-disc clutch packs are shifted under full load so there is no loss of momentum, and the advanced, electronically modulated valves ensure a smooth shift from one ratio to another. A power shuttle incorporates a neutral position and the XTX Series can be fitted with a set of 16 creep gears to provide extra-slow working speeds.

Buyers can choose between three levels of electronic control for the transmission and external service hydraulics.

The McCormick XTX145 and XTX165 have a maximum lift of 17,640 pounds and offer 29.1 gpm of hydraulic flow. Externally mounted cylinders and Category III lift arms are mounted on a new transaxle housing.

Both models feature a more modern look with a new color scheme and enhanced graphics. The powertrain sports a charcoal color while the hood, cab and fenders retain the McCormick red paint.
