The tools needed for maintenance and repair around the farm are endless. But as you stroll down the tool aisle, how do you decide which brand to choose? If you could test drive a tool before you buy, would it make your choice easier? Successful Farming magazine is going to give you the chance to put two new Craftsman tools to the test.
Craftsman's 7 1/4-inch Hypoid Circular Saw features a heavy-duty gear box, which reduces saw torque and vibration. The permanently sealed/lubricated ball-bearing motor delivers 4,400 rpm, 0 to 51 degree bevel capacity with a positive stop at 45 degrees. The suggested retail price is $149.99.
The Craftsman 24-inch Multi-function Digital Level features new digital technology that clearly reads the angle of the tool to the 1/10 of a degree. Audible tone identifies angle in 45 degree increments from 0 to 90 degrees. It recalls the last nine measurements, calculates degrees between two angles, projects bright red laser dot accurately to 1/4 inch at 100 feet. The suggested retail price is $69.99.
Being a part of the New Product Test Team means you'll be asked to test the tool for about six weeks and complete an evaluation form. For helping us test these tools, the saw or laser level is yours to keep.
If you're interested in testing either product, submit your request to:
