Successful Farming Special Summer Edition Preview
It's a new world on the farm.
Agriculture continues to evolve in this new world, where farmers increasingly must contend with new regulations and other societal goals. Issues like global warming, hypoxia in the Gulf of Mexico, and water availability for irrigated agriculture are controversial and difficult to resolve. But, farmers also are finding new opportunities in this green era.
The marketplace has begun to offer rewards for new "green" products and services. Farmers can produce value-added crops and livestock, recycle on-farm resources, qualify for state and federal environmental incentive programs, and adopt new technologies to save time, labor and money as they conserve natural resources.
In an upcoming Successful Farming special edition on green agriculture, the coverage begins with ideas gleaned directly from farmers.
