Farm Beautiful contest: Official rules

Void outside the 50 United States, District of Columbia and where prohibited. By participating, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are binding and final in all matters relating to this contest.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.  

CONTEST PERIOD:  The Successful Farming – Farm Beautiful Contest begins at 12:00 a.m. Central Time (“C.T.”) on April 1, 2013 and ends at 10:59 p.m., C.T. on July 31, 2013 (“Contest Period”).  

SPONSOR:  Meredith Corporation, 1716 Locust St., Des Moines, Iowa (“Sponsor”).

HOW TO ENTER:  There are two (2) ways to enter during the Contest Period:

  1. On line, visit www. agriculture.com/farmbeautiful, complete the registration form and follow the instructions to upload up to twelve (12) color photos and a written description (up to 500 words) of the farmstead, including the history, what was done to develop the landscape and how the layout accommodates farming activities.  Submitting a 5 minute video tour of the farmstead is optional and is not required to enter. Submitting a video will not increase your chances of winning.

  2. By mail, send up to twelve (12) color photos (any size) of your farmstead and a written description (up to 500 words) of the farmstead, including the history, what was done to develop the landscape and how the layout accommodates farming activities.  Also include your name, address, and telephone number and send to Successful Farming – Farm Beautiful Contest, 1716 Locust St., LS-265, Des Moines, IA 50309-3023.   (Photos will not be returned.)  Submitting a 5 minute CD video tour of the farmstead is optional and is not required to enter. Submitting a video will not increase your chances of winning.  

All Entries are final upon submission.  Entering the Contest online will automatically register entrant at www.agriculture.com if entrant has not already registered. Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means or practices, or by any means which subvert the entry process will be void. Online Entries must be submitted by 10:59 p.m. C.T. on July 31, 2013, and mail entries must be postmarked on or before July 31, 2013, and received by August 7, 2013, to be eligible. All Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned.

Entry may not contain, as determined by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, any content that:

  • is sexually explicit or suggestive; unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group; profane or pornographic; contains nudity;

  • promotes alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing); promotes any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous; promotes any particular political agenda or message;

  • is obscene or offensive; endorses any form of hate or hate group; appears to duplicate any other submitted Entries;
