Score with precision ag

10/25/2010 @ 1:48pm

Farming is a lot like baseball. A season lasts around nine months, and you can’t let a batting slump or a failed crop get you down. You take to the field and do your best every day. To better your odds for the next season, you strategize during the off-season. As you evaluate your lineup, you develop a game plan.

The four growers you’re about to meet looked over the players on their teams and realized they could enhance their stats with precision ag tools. When it comes to precision ag technology, some farmers get in the game early and use some heavy hitters to maximize profits and to minimize input costs. Others sit on the sidelines and step up to the plate occasionally to pinch-hit.

These four producers are no exception. Each one has chosen to adopt at varying levels and has different reasons for the bases he’s covered. But like baseball, farming is about the numbers – racking up runs on the scoreboard to bring home a winning season.

The first farmer has had limited exposure to precision ag; the second is using a few precision ag tools; and the third and fourth, a father-son team, have implemented precision ag into nearly every aspect of their operation. Learn what type of precision ag equipment each grower has in his lineup and how each is rounding the bases toward home plate.
