Fun in the snow

Agriculture.com Staff 01/03/2006 @ 11:00pm

Happy New Year!! We hope that everyone had a safe and Happy New Year's Eve! Ours was quiet but fun. Craig, KC and I were at my sister's house in southern Oregon. Rocky (my brother in-law) and KC set off fireworks at midnight and everyone went to bed.

Craig, KC and I left for my sister's on Wednesday, and it took 8 hours to get there so we had a long day. We drove through a lot of snow but there was only rain at Tracy's house. Thursday Craig, Rocky and KC took 4-wheelers and went in the hills to play in the snow. I stayed home with my 3 nieces so that Tracy could take their dog Cletus to the vet. He was having complications from a surgery he had right before Christmas.

Friday we woke up to the news that mom had to have an emergency surgery so Craig (my brother) and his family were staying home with her.

Craig helped Rocky dig ditches through their pastures so that some of the water would drain away from their house. They had so much rain there that water was going everywhere. Very unusual for their area. They have always had snow this time of year.

In the afternoon, Tracy took Cletus to the vet again and the rest of us went to the school to play with remote control cars and basketball. Rocky and Tracy are both teachers so we were able to use the multipurpose room. Saturday Craig and I took KC, Sadie and my niece Jessica who is 11 to Crater Lake and to a sledding hill to play in the snow. There was so much snow at the lake we couldn't even see, it but the kids had fun and we all enjoyed the sledding hill. We played cards every evening and stayed up late every night so we all struggled to stay up until midnight on New Year's Eve! We had a great visit with them and the girls loved Craig and KC!

We came home on Sunday to an inch of snow with more in the forecast. RW and KC both start back to school on the second. Craig has hay to unload this week and I hope to go stay with Mom for a few days when she gets home from the hospital. I asked my brother what he needed me to do and he asked that I wait and come when she gets home because she will need a lot of help then.

There is never a dull moment around here, something always comes up to change our plans. Good thing we are all flexible and work together!

Happy New Year!! We hope that everyone had a safe and Happy New Year's Eve! Ours was quiet but fun. Craig, KC and I were at my sister's house in southern Oregon. Rocky (my brother in-law) and KC set off fireworks at midnight and everyone went to bed.
