Sometimes the moments of greatest change are the hardest we endure, but they make getting to the next season that much sweeter.
There are a lot of things in life that tempt me. Chocolate; new boots; all food cooked in and with lots of butter. Sometimes it’s not food or boots that tempt me as much as my own thoughts, though, and recently, it’s been the temptation to believe the lie that my life is boring and ordinary. From the outside – and even from the inside – in a lot of ways, it can be, I guess. Every morning, noon, and night look and feel virtually the same. But even in the same, there can be different, and sometimes I have to stop and remind myself.
Everyone's story needs sharing, because someone needs to hear it.
February may be the month of love, but I’m not in love with it. Don’t get me wrong; I love our home, my family, the livestock we raise, and the way of life we live. But I do not love this almost-end-of-winter-still-too-far-from-spring time of year. Sometimes in the midst of change, some things become constant and our constant of late has been rain.
Snow may not be a novelty everywhere, but it can still hold sweet memories and traditions for us all.
Maybe it’s time to let the strength it takes to make it one more day be the resolve we need to make it one more year. That’s why this year I’m resolved to be unresolved, says Meredith Bernard.
