Just because your tractor is saddled with a sluggish 6-volt starter doesn’t necessarily mean it needs an upgrade. Before converting to a 12-volt system, give the tractor an electronics checkup. Start with its battery, advises expert mechanic Jim Friedrich of Rust In Peace Tractor Resurrection.
