Agronomy Tip: Balance Nutrients in the Fields

Curt Woolfolk, Senior Agronomist at The Mosaic Company says, “There are 17 essential nutrients, though 118 elements exist on the periodic table. For agronomists and growers, only 17 are essential for crop growth and critical for maximizing yield.”

Woolfolk explains that balancing those essential nutrients in the field is just like balancing human nutrition: think about the right ratio to maximize yield and return on investment when every square inch of that field needs to “pay its way.”

Let the 4Rs of Nutrient Stewardship be your guide: the Right source, the Right rate, the Right time, and the Right placement of products.
