Agronomy Tip: Consider More than Your Soil Test’s Nutrient Recommendation

Curt Woolfolk, Senior Agronomist at The Mosaic Company says, “Just following the nutrient recommendation from your soil test doesn't always achieve that next 5-7 bushels. You have to be extremely precise and accurate with your balanced crop nutrition program because you don't ever want that plant to have a bad day.”

Woolfolk recommends a dry granular fertilizer as a foundation because 60% of yield depends upon soil fertility. Don’t only focus on your farm’s seed technology, herbicides, fungicides, and other crop inputs; ensure you have allocated money and paid attention to building up the needs of your soil.
