Agronomy Tip: Prevent Stubble Damage to Equipment in No-Till Operations

In no-till fields, driving over last year’s stubble may result in punctured tires.

To protect your investment in both time and money, Brad Harris, Manager of Global Agricultural Field Engineering at Firestone Ag, recommends preventing damage first.

“The best advice I have for any no-till farmer is to use install stubble deflection devices at harvest on every row or across the whole platform on a grain head,” Harris says.

The deflection device helps to push stalks over, decreasing the risk of a tire puncture.
