Agronomy Tip: Checklist for Planting

If you’re in a rush planting corn and soybeans this year, don’t forget to check the little things that make a big impact, like:

  1. Planter depth. Do not leave the planter depth the same as when you planted corn. 
  2.  Population. According to Todd Schomburg, Director of Agronomy at Stine Seed Company, “I've had people accidentally start planting corn and not change it from their soybeans, and vice versa. People get in a rush and those little things tend to get past them and all of a sudden you get a field with double the population or half the population.”
