Late September Harvest Data From the Fields

  • Corn Harvest in NE Illinois

    A farmer in Lisbon, Illinois, started harvesting corn on September 19 at 19% to 20% moisture. He's seeing yields averaging anywhere from 250 to 260 dry bushels per acre.

  • Soybean Harvest in Northern Indiana

    A farm in Leesburg, Indiana, is reporting an average yield of 43 bushels per acre as soybeans are being harvested at 12% moisture.

  • Corn Harvest in NE Missouri

    A farmer in Monroe City, Missouri, says the ear sizes he's harvesting are "nothing to write home to mom about," but that's likely because he pushed up populations this year. Kernels are deep and some ears have nearly a half pound of grain on them. 

    Corn is being harvested at 17% moisture and is yielding around 190 to 200 bushels per acre.

  • Soybean Harvest in West Central Iowa

    A co-op in west central Iowa is reporting soybeans being harvested at moisture levels ranging from 12% to 15%. Yields vary quite a bit and are averaging anywhere from 48 to 80 bushels per acre.

  • Corn Harvest in SE Nebraska

    In Sutton, Nebraska, a farmer is harvesting his Channel Seed 209-69 corn at 19% to 20% moisture. His yields are ranging from 270 to 280 bushels per acre.

  • Soybean Harvest in Central Ohio

    A Granville, Ohio, farmer is harvesting beans at 13% to 15% moisture. He is reporting an average yield of 68 bushels per acre so far on his farm just 30 miles east of Columbus. 

  • Corn Harvest in North Central Indiana

    Ryan Field, a farmer in Kewanna, Indiana, is harvesting corn at 20% moisture. He's seeing an average yield of 230 bushels per acre and has been harvesting since September 17.

  • Soybean Harvest in North Central Illinois

    A farmer in Kinsman, Illinois, is harvesting his soybeans at 10.9% moisture and is seeing an average yield of 73 bushels per acre.

  • Corn Harvest in Northern Kansas

    In Jewell County, Kansas, a farmer is harvesting his corn at 11% moisture. The average yield he's seeing is 150 bushels per acre.

  • Soybean Harvest in Southern Indiana

    A Daviess County, Indiana, farmer is harvesting his soybeans and seeing an average yield of 86 bushels per acre. Decker Farms is harvesting the beans at 13% moisture.

  • Corn Harvest in SW Iowa

    At Mewhirter Farms, corn grown from Channel seed is bringing an average yield of 168 bushels per acre this harvest. The farm in Cass County, Iowa, is harvesting the corn at 21% moisture, which the farmer says is "exceptional" for the particular farm.

  • Soybean Harvest in Northern Kansas

    A Jewell County, Kansas, farmer is harvesting his soybeans at 13% moisture. His average yield is 55 bushels per acre.

  • Corn Harvest in Central Illinois

    A farmer near Taylorville, Illinois, has been harvesting corn since September 18. He's seeing an average yield of 250 bushels per acre and is harvesting at 16% moisture.

  • Corn Harvest in Eastern Indiana

    A New Castle, Indiana, farmer is harvesting corn at 17.5% moisture. He's seeing an average yield of 195 bushels per acre so far.
