Agronomy Tip: Scout for Early Season Pests

“On the soybean side, typically either the first planting or the last planting, there's always that chance that bean leaf beetle could invade those plants and cause injury. It takes a lot of injury, but I have seen it where there have been applications of insecticide just to reduce the population,” says Todd Schomburg, Director of Agronomy at Stine Seed Company. Adding an insecticide to seed treatment is also a good way to control BLB when planting early or late.
