  • Corn in Irving, Illinois

    According to the latest Crop Progress Report, 95% of Illinois corn is in dough stage, 68% of corn is dented, and 7% is mature. Also, 3% of Illinois corn is rated poor to very poor, 12% is in fair condition, and 85% of Iowa corn is considered to be in good to excellent condition.

    Luke Tuetken (Instagram: @tuek32) of Irving, Illinois, expects the corn to be ready for harvest in a few weeks. "Looking good. County wide prediction is 190 bushels per acre," says Tuetken.

  • Soybeans in Monroe City, Missouri

    According to the latest Crop Progress Report, 73% of Missouri’s soybeans are in good to excellent condition, 21% are rated fair, and 6% are in poor to very poor condition; 84% are setting pods.

    “Beans are what I am most excited about,” says Tyler Muddly (Instagram: @tmuddly17) of Monroe City, Missouri. “I’ve never seen a bean crop look this good and may never again. Our beans got tall, which worried me. But they jointed close together, and each cluster is five pods or more. I pulled an average plant and counted 106 pods on it. With three beans per pod and 140,000 planted, the yield guesses get stupid, fast. Can’t wait to cut these.”

  • Corn in Monroe City, Missouri

    “It’s that time of year when you start moisture testing hand-shelled corn way too early because of anticipation,” says Tyler Mudd. “Probably two or three weeks away in my neck of the woods.”

    The latest Crop Progress Report says that 97% of Missouri corn is in dough stage, 79% is dented, and 21% is mature; 76% of the state’s corn is rated good to excellent, 17% is rated fair, and 7% is considered in poor to very poor condition.

  • Corn in Shadehill, South Dakota

    “The corn is looking really good,” says Doug Ham of Shadehill, South Dakota. “Hopefully we get to harvest it without any problems. We’re in northwest South Dakota close to the North Dakota border. It isn’t ideal corn country, but this is probably the best crop I have ever raised. But it’s still not in the bin!”

    The latest Crop Progress Report lists 91% of South Dakota corn in dough stage, 45% as dented, and 5% mature. Also, 18% of the state’s corn is rated poor to very poor, while 30% is in fair condition, and 52% is considered to be good to excellent.

  • Corn in Maxwell, Iowa

    According to the latest Crop Progress Report, 94% of Iowa corn is in dough stage, 65% is dented, and 4% is mature. In Iowa, 4% of the corn is rated poor to very poor, 13% is in fair condition, and 83% is considered in good to excellent condition.

    “A lot of fields have started to turn in the last week,” says Rhonda Birchmier of Maxwell, Iowa. “However, the only change in this field is higher aphid numbers.”

  • Corn in Dakota, Minnesota

    In Minnesota, only 4% of the state’s corn crop is rated poor to very poor: 85% is rated good to excellent, and 11% is rated fair. As for maturity, 95% is in the dough stage, and 58% is dented.

  • Corn in Wausa, Nebraska

    The corn is 14 to 12 milk line, says Derek Cunningham of of Wausa, Nebraska.

    75% of Nebraska corn is in good to excellent condition, 19% is rated fair, and 6% is in poor to very poor condition. Also, 95% of Nebraska corn is in dough stage, 61% is dented, and 5% is mature.

  • Soybeans in Wausa, Nebraska

    “Some white mold is showing up in areas,” says Derek Cunningham. “Rain has continued to be spotty.”

    In Nebraska, 77% of the state’s soybeans are in good to excellent condition, 19% are rated fair, and 4% are in poor to very poor condition. According to the latest Crop Progress Report, 96% of Nebraska beans are setting pods, and 8% are dropping leaves.
