150,000 to 175,000 Seeds/A. Recommended for 15 in. Row Soybeans in Southern IL

A one-year evaluation of various populations on soybeans was conducted to determine an optimum seeding rate.
When taking stand counts, we were not surprised to see an average stand loss of 37 percent due to the excessive rains the plot experienced. The results continue to tell the same story Beck's Practical Farm Research (PFR)® has seen at their sites over several years.
There is no direct correlation to high soybean plant populations producing the highest yielding soybeans. In this study, the second highest yield and the highest return on investment came from 150,000 planted population with final stands of only 86,636 plants/A. Soybeans have an incredible ability to compensate!

Beck's Hybrids PFR program conducts more than 75 different studies across multiple locations (500+ acres) to learn how different management practices and new technologies perform in field environments. Simply put, it is research focused with the farmer in mind.
