First Year Study Results +2.5 Bu./A. Advantage for Escalate + ILeVO at Earlier Planting

The purpose of this study was to evaluate yield and profitability differences between earlier and later planting dates with three different seed treatments providing protection against Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS).
Sudden Death Syndrome incidence increases when planting into cool, moist soil conditions early in the season. The disease infection takes place during those early vegetative growth stages, but visual symptoms are not recognized until the reproduction stages. Many times, areas that are compacted or have poor drainage can be the patches in a field where symptomology is first recognized.
This study highlighted a difference in how ILeVO performed when comparing planting dates. The earlier planting date resulted in a 2.5 Bu./A. advantage with Beck’s Escalate™ + ILeVO over Escalate alone. Comparing Escalate alone to Escalate + ILeVO at a later planting date, only resulted in a 1.2 Bu./A. yield advantage. Therefore, earlier planting increased the yield advantage of ILeVO by 1.3 Bu./A. over planting at a later planting date.
