Women in Ag: Breaking Out the Plows and Boot Driers

The first major snowfall of the year came and went this weekend in northern Illinois. We got an impressive 10 inches after all was said and done, but I’m actually not complaining. While it is certainly cold outside and 10 inches is a lot of snow, the weather isn’t nasty. There’s a big difference between a calm (albeit heavy) snowfall and a blizzard with blustering winds and ice.

For now, winter is being fairly kind to us, and I’m embracing it. Sure, we’ve had to put the snowplow onto the truck and get the boot drier set up in the mud room, but we don’t have a cold winter wind cutting through the house or ice outside of our front door, and in mid-December in northern Illinois, I’d call that a win!
