Adjust Tractor Tire Inflation Pressure
If you store equipment over the winter months, be sure to adjust your tire inflation pressure to account for the natural, slow loss of PSI.
Brad Harris, Manager of Global Agricultural Field Engineering at Firestone Ag says to inflate tires to their max-rated inflation pressure. “This way, when we do get that equipment out for spring prep work, we're not walking into sheds finding flat tires that need inflated before we can get into the fields.”
Harris also recommends being mindful of where each tire’s valve core is positioned when stored and adjust it if you have time. “In case a tire does go flat over the storage period, having the valve core where it is most accessible will help save time when you’re ready to inflate it.”
