Agritechnica Day 3

  • Tire or Tracks?

    Tire or Tracks?
The Mitas PneuTrac seeks to bring together the best features from pneumatic tires and rubber tracks. The tire has a larger footprint, lower inflation pressure, more even ground pressure distribution, and less soil compaction than a traditional tire, yet roads better than a track system. The PneuTrac is still a prototype and won’t go to market for several years.

  • Four-Wheel Steering

    Four-Wheel Steering
At this year's show Linder introduced the Lintrac 90: a tractor with four-wheel steering. To improve the maneuverability of the tractor for front-loading operations, the rear axle on the Linder 90 can be steered. The goal is that this front-loading tractor can achieve almost the same functionality as a wheeled loader, saving you from investing in another machine.

  • Hybrid Telehandler

    Hybrid Telehandler
On this Merlo telehandler, you can switch the drive between electric and diesel-electric. In the electric mode the 30kWh lithium battery supplies the machine with energy. In the hybrid mode, when the diesel engine is operating at a constant speed it supplies power for traction drive and charges the battery. The drive architecture makes it possible to halve the rated output of the diesel engine without restricting the work of the loader.

  • PTO Speed Change

    Automatic PTO Speed Change
Deutz Fahr created a PTO gear unit that can be switched under load capacity. Depending on the engine load, switching takes place automatically between nominal PTO shaft speed and eco shaft speed, this is particularly useful when applications change frequently.
