Electric Fence Steel Post Assembly
Having steel posts on corrals, automatic gates, and the like, I needed a way to attach electric fence hot wires without causing shorts. To get the spacing for the insulators, I cut PVC pipes to the length needed. I slid the insulators and the PVC pipes onto a ¾-inch rod and then bent the rod into a C shape. For a quick install, I place the top part of the rod hanging down into the post and clamp the bottom to the post with hose clamps. If it needs to be permanent, it can be welded, but I like the flexibility of easy removal. I used old power line insulators from around the farm, but those can be found almost anywhere.
