Free Accessory for Painting Projects

For a simple way to keep paint out of the rim of the can, trace the can on a piece of cardboard and cut out that circle slightly larger. Put a slot in the cardboard large enough to easily insert the brush, then secure it to the can with a couple strips of masking tape. It keeps the paint out of the rim, provides a straight edge for wiping off excess paint from the brush, and makes a flat surface to rest the brush on. When finished, peel off the cardboard and replace the lid.
