Winter Water Cover
I use a Miraco LilSpring multipurpose livestock waterer with heat to water my livestock. If you live in the Midwest, you know that when temperatures drop to single digits and lower with wind chills, even a heated waterer will freeze over. The solution: an old mud flap and aluminum straps. The hinges are bolted to the waterer above the waterline to prevent leakage. The flap helps retain heat, while livestock can easily lift the flap to get a drink.
