Textron Off Road’s Havoc X Available Now

Built for work and play, Textron Off Road’s Havoc X is designed to appeal to a wide range of outdoor enthusiasts, including farmers, ranchers, and hunters. The UTV includes features that make it a great fit for work during the week or a recreational weekend.

Textron Off Road is the new division for what was formerly Textron’s Bad Boy brand and also includes the recently acquired Arctic Cat brand. For the first time under the new name, the company announced the release of its latest side-by-side.

Specifications

Designed and built by Textron Motors GmbH, a 100-hp. electronic fuel-injection engine powers the two-passenger vehicle. The MPE950 engine is a German engineered gas powered, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, twin-cylinder single overhead cam that produces 67 foot pounds of torque.

Gears are selected by a dash-mounted shifter. The on-demand all-wheel drive system makes the vehicle ready to handle quick changes in terrain. The Havoc X is equipped with selectable two-wheel, four-wheel, and four-wheel drive with locking differential.

Four-wheel hydraulic disk brakes with 9-inch rotors, along with dual piston calipers, make up the Havoc X brake system. This arrangement allows more control of all four wheels during deceleration. ITP Ultracross tires come standard on cast aluminum wheels.

An aggressive front and rear suspension system puts this vehicle at the top of its class in the category. Double A-arms in the front and rear deliver 12.8-inch and 12.9-inch travel, respectively. King gas shocks with 2.5-inch aluminum bodies and piggyback reservoirs provide excellent performance in a variety of conditions.

Work-Ready

The cargo dump bed boasts a 600-pound load capacity. The piston-assisted dump bed allows a single person to handle a full bed easily. “I’ve loaded that up with 600 pounds, and you can raise it with one hand. It relieves a lot of pressure,” says Ben White of Textron Specialized Vehicles.

The Havoc X’s towing capacity is 2,000 pounds and is supported by a standard 2-inch receiver.

“The towing capacity is key. That’s the most towing capacity you can get for this class,” explains White.

Extended cab storage space with an additional 170 pounds of capacity and a glove box makes securely toting tools a breeze. “The extended cab is great to throw in chain saws, toolboxes, water jugs, or there are even specialized weapon racks to go back there. It’s great for anything you want to keep separate from the dump bed,” says White.

Structurally welded high-strength steel makes up the frame of this new UTV. The machine is equipped to handle rough terrain with 13 inches of ground clearance. A 9.5-gallon fuel tank allows for uninterrupted all-day operation.

Operation

The Havoc X is easy to enter and exit for all riders and drivers with a large 10-square foot opening. The adjustable bucket seats and three-point seat belts keep users safe and comfortable. Full, impact-resistant doors come standard on this UTV. Electronic power steering and a tilt steering wheel make the UTV enjoyable to operate.

The 5.25×3.25-inch LCD display leads its class making speed, fuel level, and gear position easy to read at a glance. The adjustable backlit screen enables owners to run their own diagnostics rather than haul the vehicle into a dealer. This technology displays the engine code for each error message, allowing skilled owners to perform some of their own maintenance.

Customizable speed controls are also set through the display. While the machine can perform at speeds greater than 70 mph, a lower speed may be set and password protected. This setting is ideal for less experienced operators.

A 12-volt DC outlet and USB port allow for easy charging of mobile devices and small tools. Hi/Lo LED headlights and accent lights, impact-resistant full doors, and a brush guard with a 4,000-pound Warn winch also come standard.

Price and Availability

The Havoc X starts out at $17,299 and can be ordered today through a local dealer. Many accessories can be added through the dealer, as well. Financing options are available, and Textron backs the machine with a 12-month warranty. Like other Textron products, the Havoc X is manufactured in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
