Bobcat Tier 4 S740 Skid Steer With no Aftertreatment

Bobcat’s first Tier 4-compliant 700 frame-size loader – the S740 – is powered by an engine that is under 75 hp. and doesn’t require a diesel particulate filter (DPF), selective catalytic reduction, or diesel exhaust fluid. The S740 boasts the highest rated operating capacity in the under 75-hp. skid steer class.

The Tier 4 solution is achieved by using an ultra-low particulate combustion (ULPC) engine and diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC). The ULPC engine combustion chamber significantly reduces the amounts of particulate matter created during combustion, eliminating the need for a DPF.

The S740 joins the M-series line, which includes 11 skid steers. As a vertical-lift-path machine, the S740 can lift heavy loads higher – up to 3,100 pounds 11 feet high.

Auxiliary hydraulic flow on the M-series loaders is 23 gallons per minute (gpm) with the option to upgrade to the high-flow 30.5 gpm.

Like all M-series machines, the S740 features a cab-forward design that puts you closer to the attachment. In addition, windows on the sides and rear of the cab are larger to provide more visibility to the back of the machine.

The cab is also pressurized with a one-piece seal that goes all the way around the door and fits into a special curved pocket. This minimizes the amount of dirt and dust that enter the cab.

Simple checkpoints make it easier to perform necessary maintenance. The auxiliary quick couplers are mounted directly to the front plate of the lift arm to provide a solid mounting, and hoses are routed through the loader arms for better protection. A guard bar extends in the front of the coupler for added protection.
