2015 Top Shop Winners

Over 120 entries were submitted in the recent Top Shops® Contest sponsored by Morton Buildings. When the judging was over, the Grand Prize award went to Jesse Lutz of Mason City, Iowa. What set the Lutz shop apart was not the structure itself, although the shop is top-notch. Instead, the Lutz family was named Grand Prize winner for the overall site plan, which accommodates a shop-office complex, exterior staging area, and future storage structure.

First place awards were also given out to three lucky shops:

Best Shop Design – Lance and Jay Rezac of Onaga, Kansas
Easy access to multiple work bays and a myriad of unique features earned Rezac Land & Livestock first-place honors.

Best Shop Office – Terry Bogner of Sparland, Illinois
This well-thought out office includes a wraparound porch, large oak table, kitchen, two individual offices, and a bathroom.

Best Shop Feature – Doug Langel of Le Mars, Iowa
The defining difference between the Langel family’s welding center and all similar work bays featured in past Agriculture.com articles is its organization.
