Energy dependency has become an important issue in the world, and Vermeer is working to develop ways for biomass -- that is, corn stover, wheat straw, wood, and other materials -- to become a viable energy source. A tour of their Pella, Iowa facilities, as well as some field demonstrations of their hay and forage products showed their dedication.

VR2040 Wheel Rake
The VR2040 is a high-capacity wheel rake that’s still able to maneuver like rakes much smaller in size. With a patent-pending lift/suspension cylinder on each wheel and the nitrogen-charged accumulator, changing wheel settings and pressure is simple, says Phil Egging, Vermeer Product Manager.

504 PRO Baler
The 504 PRO Baler from Vermeer is built to handle the demands of heavy, wet material for frequent silage baling. The 5’ x 4’ variable chamber baler offers the features and flexibility to produce high quality bales in a variety of materials. With the standard, color touchscreen E-Link Pro monitor, baling operations can be easily controlled from the cab. 

605 Cornstalk Special Baler
“The Cornstalk Special baler is built to make cornstalk baling easy from start to finish,” says Phil Chrisman, Vermeer Baler Product Manager. Not only is the baler designed to efficiently bale cornstalks and withstand the conditions of doing so, but now the optional Inline Ramp makes the loading process more efficient as well.” The Inline Ramp positions bales so you can pick them up along the rows without the need to drive over ridges and cornstalks.

BPX9000 Bale Processor
The easy to operate BPX9000 Bale Processor is built tough with a unique, T-style frame, the bed design and offset rotor produce even and consistent feed with minimal maintenance, and an optional large square bale kit includes enhancements to effectively process a variety of bales. The BPX9000 is built to maximize bale processing and minimize operator stress.
