Polaris Debuts First Ever Two-Person 6x6 ATV

Polaris’ brand new six-wheel ATV called the BIG BOSS is the first two-person 6x6 ATV in the industry and has a raised seat for a passenger. On top of that, the 2017 Sportsman 6x6 BIG BOSS 570 EPS is made to work, equipped with a gas-assist dump box capable of handling 800 pounds of cargo and built-in front storage.

“Unlike any other ATV, it is designed specifically for customers who demand ultimate traction, massive payload, and carrying versatility,” said Steve Smith, director of product planning for Polaris Off-Road Vehicles. “This vehicle takes on the biggest jobs, anywhere.”

With just the flip of a switch, operators can change from four-wheel to six-wheel drive. Smith cited extreme hunting trips and harsh conditions as situations the BIG BOSS excels in, which makes sense because this ATV was designed to accommodate riders using the machine in remote locations.

The BIG BOSS has 11.5 inches of ground clearance with 8.2 inches of front suspension travel and 9.5 inches of rear suspension travel. The ATV has a towing capacity of 1,500 pounds and torque of 36.1 foot-pounds.

A liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke DOHC single cylinder (44 hp) engine powers Polaris’ BIG BOSS. The ATV engine boasts an impressive 6.75 gallon fuel capacity and a range of up to 130 miles. Drivers will also enjoy an automatic CVT transmission and standard electronic power steering.

The BIG BOSS ATV comes in sage green, will be in dealerships in April, and will retail for $10,999.
